In-state star Jared Casey sets new decision date

This would be a massive get if Kentucky lands the stud linebacker.

Four-star linebacker Jared Casey just backed off his pledge to the Oregon Ducks, and he now has a new decision date set.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence this news comes on the same day that fellow in-state star JJ Weaver is expected to commit to Kentucky, who is starting to put the Bluegrass on lockdown when it comes to recruiting.

Kentucky already has a pledge from one four-star Kentucky kid in Wandale Robinson. They should get another in Weaver, a four-star defensive end. Then you’ve got Casey, a four-star linebacker set to make his decision next week. This could end up being one of the best Bluegrass recruiting years for UK in recent memory.

Casey is listed as the No. 17 inside linebacker in the 2019 class according to the 247 Sports. The Ballard High School star will likely be choosing between the Oregon Ducks, Louisville Cardinals, Wisconsin Badgers, and Kentucky Wildcats, his original finalists before picking Oregon.

From Avery Williamson to Courtney Love to Jordan Jones, and now Kash Daniel, Kentucky’s defense has been anchored by strong linebackers under Mark Stoops.

The 247 Crystal Ball predictions gives Kentucky the best chance of landing him. With the Wildcats’ current momentum on and off the field and his announcement coming on the heels of his decommit, it seems like there’s a very good chance of Kentucky landing him next week.
