Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops and wide receivers coach Michael Smith were in Louisiana last night to visit 2019 quarterback commit Amani Gilmore.
Now, why was the UK wide receivers coach there with him? That’s because four-star Under-Armour All-American Devonta Lee was in attendance with Gilmore for the in-home visit.

Lee is the #6 overall athlete in class of 2019 and #127 overall. ESPN has him as the208th-best player in 2019 in addition to being the 28th-best wide receiver.
While the LSU Tigers hold almost all of the crystal ball picks for Lee, it’s interesting to see him in a dual in-home visit with a UK quarterback commit for next season.
Lee would make an immediate impact on the offensive side of the ball for the Wildcats if he were to commit to Kentucky for next season, playing alongside Lynn Bowden and JaVonte Richardson. If this past season was any indicator, Kentucky badly needs more help at receiver, as Bowden can only do so much as the only reliable threat. Having a guy like Lee could be a game-changer for the 2019 Kentucky Football team.
With only a handful of spots left in the 2019 recruiting class for Kentucky, it seems the Wildcats might be potentially be in for a huge finish to this class, and may be Stoops’ best recruiting class since he has been at Kentucky.
