Josh Allen has been one of the best players in college football this season, and he’s now getting his due.
On Wednesday, five finalists for the Walter Camp National Player of the Year award were announced, and Allen made the cut. Also making it were West Virginia quarterback Will Grier, Washington State quarterback Gardner Minshew, Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray, and Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
That’s an impressive group to be part of, especially since Grier, Murray and Tagovailoa are three of ESPN’s top four Heisman candidates.
The fact that Allen is the only non-quarterback to make this list only begins to speak to how dominant of a player he’s been for Kentucky this season. He may not win this award, but just being one of the five finalists is a major accomplishment.
There will be more awards and honors to come for Allen as he looks to end his Kentucky career with a win in whatever bowl game they play in.
