Could the Kentucky Wildcats be primed for a major flip?
Mark Stoops and his staff have been on the wrong end of several big-time recruiting flips over the years. They’re hoping they’ll be on the right side of one when it comes to four-star linebacker Jared Casey.
On Tuesday, Casey decommitted from the Oregon Ducks, according to Justin Rowland of CatsPause. Rowland adds that several Kentucky coaches met with Casey on Tuesday.
That would seem to bode very well for the Wildcats, who just enjoyed a breakout 9-3 season, one of the best regular-season finishes in school history. They did it on the strength of one of the nation’s defenses, which is going to lose a ton of talent to graduation, which could pave the way for a guy like Casey to come in and play a big role as a true freshman.
And just like that, a wealth of Kentucky picks are coming in Casey’s 247 Sports crystal ball. With the early signing period almost here, Kentucky appears to be in good shape for this Bluegrass star.
