The Kentucky Wildcats appear to be making a run for five-star small forward Kyree Walker.
Walker, who recently decommitted from the Arizona State Sun Devils, is one of the top players in the Class of 2020. Not long after he backed off his pledge Bobby Hurley’s squad, multiple reports came out that Kentucky was going to be involved in this recruitment.
Now, Jake Weingarten reports that Kentucky is one of the top schools in the running:
Memphis, Nevada, and Kentucky have been named the front runners for 2020 five-star Kyree Walker, source told Stockrisers.

Walker, who hails from Phoenix (AZ), plays for Hillcrest Hoops and has offers from the Arizona Wildcats, Memphis Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners, UCLA Bruins and USC Trojans among others. Kentucky has yet to offer a scholarship.
ESPN and 247 have the 6-5, 200-pound Walker listed as a small forward, while Rivals has him listed as a shooting guard. He’s ranked ninth overall in 2020 by 247 Sports, while ESPN and Rivals have him at 13th.
It’s hard to say how interested Kentucky is right now, but it certainly appears Walker is interested in John Calipari’s program. It will be interesting to see how this plays out moving forward, especially if it turns into another Cal vs. Penny battle.
Hardway has already pried DJ Jeffries and James Wiseman away, so he’s clearly a threat to Kentucky on the recruiting trail going forward.
