The Kentucky Wildcats got a scare after Tyler Herro went down with an injury vs. the Winthrop Eagles.
It happened early in the first half when Herro was driving to the rim, got fouled and came down hard on his backside. He was briefly down on the ground in pain before walking off the court under his own power.
However, Herro had to go to the locker room to be examined by trainers, and Nick Richards ended up shooting his free throws.
Herro eventually returned to the bench, so it doesn’t appear to be anything serious. He has also returned to the game now.
When he left the game, Herro had four assists in just seven minutes with a +/- of 11.
Herro would go on to finish with 15 points and a career-high seven assists in an 87-74 win for the Wildcats.
