The Kentucky Wildcats take the court this afternoon for a matchup against the Winthrop Eagles, who sit at 2-2 on the season.
The Eagles played Vanderbilt to start the season, falling 92-79 to the Commodores as their only notable competition so far. The Commodores shot 54 percent from the field in the victory, which should be a positive sign for the Wildcats that they should be able to put up some points on this Eagles squad.
The Eagles are most recently coming off a 76-74 defeat to East Tennessee State after winning their previous two games against SIU-Edwardsville and a DIII squad.
In the past, we have seen some sluggish performances from Kentucky in these day-before-Thanksgiving games, but hopefully the Wildcats can come out firing on all cylinders and build an early lead to suck the air out of any upset bid.
The game tips off early, with a 1 p.m. tip time and will be on the SEC Network.
