During the John Calipari Show on Monday, Coach Cal was asked about Reid Travis’ condition following the tough lick Travis took to the eye during Sunday evening’s game against the VMI Keydets.
Cal said that he sat Travis out today during workouts but thinks that he will be able to go tomorrow for practice with the team. Cal also said that Reid just mainly watched film today and took it easy for the remainder of the day.
“He thinks he’s going to be fine...he thinks he’ll be good for tomorrow,” Calipari says of Reid Travis. He only watched film today, took the rest of the day off, Calipari says. https://t.co/02vVGDS23p

Cal said he had @2ReidTravis2 sit out today’s workouts because of his eye injury but after texting with Reid a little bit ago, he thinks he will be ready for practice tomorrow.

Travis totaled 22 points and six rebounds in the 92-82 victory over VMI, 10 of which coming after Travis suffered an injury, which led to him wearing goggles for the rest of the game.
We all know that Travis is one tough specimen, but that was one tough hit to the face last night, so it’s good to hear that it’s nothing major and that he should be able to return to practice tomorrow.
Travis, along with the rest of the team, will be practicing tomorrow to get prepared for the Winthrop Eagles, who will be coming into Rupp Arena to take on the Kentucky Wildcats this Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. EST.
We’ll keep an eye out to see if Travis continues to wear the stylish goggles or if he will be able to go without them.
