Signing plans for Tyrese Maxey, Kahlil Whitney & Dontaie Allen

One of UK’s commits isn’t planning to sign this fall.

With the 2019 Early Signing Period on the horizon, two Kentucky Wildcat commits have released their signing dates.

Dontaie Allen and Tyrese Maxey, two of Kentucky’s three commits for the 2019 recruiting class, will sign during the Early Period.

Maxey, the first recruit to commit to head coach John Calipari and the Wildcats’, will sign on Wednesday, November 14th. Maxey’s signing will be held that morning at South Garland High School, scheduled to begin at 10 A.M.

This is the first day any player is eligible to sign.

Allen, a senior at Pendleton County High School, will sign on Friday, November 16th. His ceremony will be held at the school’s gymnasium at 1 P.M.

Kahlil Whitney, the program’s top-recruit thus far, has yet to release the date on which he intends to sign. However, his mother told KSR that the current plan is for Whitney not to sign this fall. There doesn’t seem to be anything to worry about for now, but Kentucky has rarely had a commitment not sign during the fall.

As the early signing period begins, though, expect some names to not only fall off Kentucky’s “board” but one or two to potentially make their climb to the top. While some schools may be warmer than Kentucky, that far from excludes Calipari and his coaching staff from making their move.

For example, top-five talent Jaden McDaniels wasn’t even on Kentucky’s radar though Calipari and Joel Justus have suddenly entered the race and are viewed by some as the favorite to land the prospect.

However, it does not appear McDaniels will sign early, and it appears other targets like Vernon Carey, Matthew Hurt and Isaiah Stewart won’t either.

James Wiseman is planning to as of now.
