The Wildcats are struggling to score points on anyone, and the Gators regain some momentum, while out west the Alabama show continues as the season starts to come to a close.
#1 Alabama Crimson Tide (10-0,7-0)
Last week: #1
What more needs to be said about Alabama?
It was yet another beatdown of another SEC foe, as the Tide roll over Mississippi State 24-0 to continue to prove that they are the best team in college football.
Week 12: Vs. The Citadel
#2 Georgia Bulldogs (9-1,7-1)
Last week: #2
The top dog in the East is the Georgia Bulldogs, and this week, they took down an SEC West rival in Auburn, 27-10.
Auburn gave Georgia a good fight for much of the game, but in the end, Georgia’s talent and homefield advantage was too much for the Tigers and the Bulldogs continue their excellent season.
Week 12: Vs. UMass
#3 LSU Tigers (8-2,5-2)
Last week: #3
The Tigers took care of business this week against the worst team in the league, as they took down Arkansas, 24-17, bouncing back after they were shutout by Bama just a week ago.
Now, the Tigers will have a cupcake week before they make the road trip to Texas A&M for what will be a tough place to play as they try to finish the season strong.
Week 12: Vs. Rice
#4 Kentucky Wildcats (7-3,5-3)
Last week: #4
The Cats are a weird team to place this week. I know that they have lost two in a row and this week was embarrassing. However, they are still 5-3 in the SEC and the teams behind them also lost this week, so I don’t see how they can move any.
A week after the Cats were dominated by a much better Georgia team, the Cats responded with yet another very poor performance on the road at Tennessee, as they lost 24-7, making their losing streak 17 in a row in Knoxville.
The Cats offense has been abysmal the last few weeks, and it looked even worse in this one. Only this time, the defense has more mistakes than they usually do, and it led to the dominating win by Tennessee.
Week 12: Vs. Middle Tennessee State
#5 Florida Gators (7-3,5-3)
Last week: #9
Last week, the Gators were dominated by Missouri at home, and this week, almost made it back to back home losses, as South Carolina had a big lead on the Gators.
However, Florida was able to get it together and battle back for the impressive 35-31 win over a tough USC team.
Week 12: Vs. Idaho
#6 Missouri Tigers (6-4,2-4)
Last week: #8
A week after the Tigers went on the road and dominated Florida, they come back this week and win a close battle with Vanderbilt 33-28 making themselves bowl eligible.
It wasn’t the best of performances by the Tigers, but they did just enough to get the job done and will now get ready to face a surging Tennessee team on the road.
Week 12: @Tennessee
#7 Auburn Tigers (6-4,3-4)
Last week: #5
The Tigers failed to make a big statement with a win over #5 Georgia, losing 27-10 but they still put up a good fight for part of the game in a tough environment as the Georgia fans were rocking all night.
Plus, with the other teams also losing I feel that Auburn is still a top 5 power in the SEC… For now.
Week 12: Vs. Liberty
#8 Tennessee Volunteers (5-5,2-4)
Last week: #11
A very impressive performance for the Vols this week as they dominated the #11 ranked Wildcats with a 24-7 victory as they were able to put up a lot of points against one of the best defenses in the SEC.
Also, the Vols were able to take advantage of a struggling Kentucky offense with their defense and constantly had pressure on the QB while making running difficult for Benny Snell.
Week 12: Vs. Missouri
#9 South Carolina Gamecocks (5-4,4-4)
Last week: #7
Although USC lost this week, they had a big lead on the Gators before they fell apart and blew it losing a game that they should’ve won.
I still believe that USC is a talented team and will be going to a bowl game after they take care of business next week and will have a big chance to make a statement in two weeks when they get a shot at Clemson.
Week 12: Vs. Chattanooga
#10 Mississippi State Bulldogs (6-4,2-4)
Last week: #6
It was a tough week for the Bulldogs as they were the next victim on the Alabama train as the Tide rolled over State 24-0.
The Bulldogs got off to a bad start when Alabama took a quick 14-0 lead and at that point the game was already over, and the Bulldogs mediocre season continues.
Week 12: Vs. Arkansas
#11 Texas A&M Aggies (6-4,4-3)
Last week: #10
After two tough weeks for the Aggies they were finally able to get back on the winning side of things with a 38-24 win over Ole Miss becoming bowl eligible.
The Aggies should get their 7th win of the season next week barring a huge upset and then they will get to try to make a big statement when LSU comes to town.
Week 12: Vs. UAB
#12 Vanderbilt Commodores (4-6,1-5)
Last week: #12
A heartbreaking week for Vandy as they had the lead over Missouri for majority of the game before Drew Lock battled back to hand the Commodores a 33-28 loss.
Clinching bowl eligibility will be a tough task for Vandy as they must play Ole Miss and a surging Tennessee team and beat them both in order to achieve that goal.
Week 12: Vs. Ole Miss
#13 Ole Miss Rebels (5-5,1-5)
Last week: #13
It was a tough week for the Rebels this week as they had to go on the road to Texas A&M and lost 38-24.
However, the Rebels will have a chance at two more SEC wins when they face Vanderbilt and Mississippi State over the next two weeks.
Week 12: @Vanderbilt
#14 Arkansas Razorbacks (2-8,0-6)
Last week: #14
The Razorbacks actually played a fairly good game this week!
Unfortunately, Arkansas had to face one of the top 3 teams in the SEC this week in LSU and lost, 24-17, but put up a good fight.
The schedule for Arkansas is not favorable, and they have to face Mississippi State and Missouri to close out the year.
Week 12: @Mississippi State
