5-star PG Jeremy Roach trims list, Kentucky makes the cut

The No. 1 point guard in the class may end up in Lexington.

USA Today

Jeremy Roach is the top point guard in the 2020 recruiting class, and the No. 16 overall player according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He is one of only seven players in the class to receive an offer to play for the Kentucky Wildcats, and he announced his final four teams Thursday evening.

While John Calipari and staff are still working hard on building the 2019 class, they are always one step ahead and getting in the ear of the best players in each class. Roach is no exception.

Roach is not playing any games with his recruitment, listing arguably the top four programs in the country as the finalists for his services. He is still considering the Duke Blue Devils, the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Villanova Wildcats, and the Kentucky Wildcats.

There is no timetable set for Roach’s final decision. As a member of the 2020 class, he has another year and a half before there is really any pressure for him to sign with anyone.

But since he is trimming his list so early, you’d have to think he is looking at an early commitment. Could he be the catalyst for Kentucky’s 2020 class that takes the lead in recruiting his peers?

Kentucky only offered Roach a little over a month ago, on September 27th. And the Wildcats currently have 80% of the predictions on his 247 Sports crystal ball. He took his official visit to Duke last month, and you can expect him to schedule more visits in the coming months.

Have a look at what Kentucky could potentially be getting in point guard Jeremy Roach.
