UK staff celebrates commitment of Wandale Robinson, who will be early enrollee

It’s a party! It’s a party! It’s a party!

There may not be a happier coaching staff in college football right now than what the Kentucky Wildcats have.

Mark Stoops and his staff have taken Kentucky to a level that hasn’t been seen since the days of Bear Bryant and Jerry Claiborne. They’re getting set to host the Georgia Bulldogs with a chance to win the school’s first-ever SEC East title.

Oh, and they just scored one of, if not the biggest recruiting win in the Stoops area, as Wandale Robinson picked Kentucky after it appeared Nebraska and Ohio State were ahead in that race in recent months.

So, as you can imagine, Stoops and his staff were pretty ecstatic when Robinson picked the Cats on Thursday:

They’re not just happy Robinson committed, but also that it won’t be long until he’s on campus. During his commitment ceremony, Robinson revealed that he will be an early enrollee and be part of Kentucky’s spring football season.

That is huge news for a Kentucky team that’s probably going to lose Benny Snell to the NFL Draft, while Sihiem King is likely to transfer as he sits out this season while redshirting.

That means AJ Rose would be the only returning back with significant playing time, so he’s going to need some help in the backfield. However, Robinson is expected to play both running back and wide receiver early in his career, and the thought of Robinson lining up across from Lynn Bowden is a scary sight for any opposing defense

Good times.
