Today is decision day for Western Hills (Frankfort, Ky.) star Wandale Robinson.
Robinson, the electric 4-star athlete who has dominated highlight reels with jaw-dropping plays at Western Hills High School, will be deciding between Nebraska, Kentucky, and Ohio State as the three main contenders.
The likely choice is Nebraska. The Cornhuskers own 73 percent of the picks in Robinson’s 247 Crystal Ball, and a lot of the buzz has gone to Nebraska. However, Kentucky and Ohio State can’t be counted out of the equation.
Vince Marrow has been the primary recruiter for Robinson, and has made him a top priority on the list of Kentucky’s remaining targets. Marrow has pulled off some incredible victories on the recruiting trail, but this would be quite the victory for the Wildcats off the field.
Robinson projects as an all-purpose back in college, and a player that should see the field frequently as a true freshman wherever he lands. Robinson can play out of the backfield taking handoffs, catching passes out of the backfield, or lining up as a slot receiver.
At 5’9” and 175-180 pounds, Robinson is very elusive on the field, but doesn’t shy away from contact and isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder to pick up a few extra yards or break off a would-be tackler for a long gain.
Landing Robinson would be a MAJOR victory for Kentucky, but as mentioned earlier, Nebraska seems to be the favorite with Ohio State still in the picture.
He will be announcing his commitment at about 4 p.m.
