The Kentucky Wildcats have endured their first setback, but it was part of what was an upset-filled Saturday of college football.
Oklahoma, LSU, Auburn, Stanford, Boise State, Oklahoma State, Michigan State and Kentucky were among the top-25 teams to go down Saturday. That helped keep the Wildcats from falling too far in the lastest Coaches Top 25 Poll, which has them checking in at No. 20.
Kentucky actually lost to what’s now a top-25 Texas A&M team, who checks in at No. 22.
Yet somehow, the pollsters still manage to disrespect Kentucky by putting Florida ahead of them at No. 16, the same Gators team that scored just 16 points in a 27-16 loss to the Wildcats in Week 2. Both teams are now 5-1, yet somehow the voters thought the Gators should be ahead of a team they lost by double digits to.

The Massey and Sagarin rankings have Kentucky checking in at 15 and 21 respectively.
Over at CBS Sports, Kentucky checked in at No. 18 in Chip Patterson’s latest top 25 ranking:
18. Kentucky (13): It almost broke all the way for Kentucky, and after the scoop-and-score game-tying touchdown, there was a feeling of inevitability. But credit Texas A&M’s defense for coming up with some huge plays behind the line of scrimmage in crunch time, getting the game to overtime so Kellen Mond could ice the win.
Even with Saturday’s setback, this has been nothing short of one of Kentucky’s all-time best starts in program history, so hopefully, they’ll continue in in the second half of the season.
