Good morning Big Blue Nation. It’s hard to argue that there has never been a bigger week in the history of Kentucky Wildcats football than this one. They are set to take on the Georgia Bulldogs for sole possession of the SEC East and the right to go to Atlanta to play for the SEC Championship.

It’s the perennial powerhouse vs. the upstart team that’s been historically bad. This makes for great television and the SEC Network as for buildup. The crew from SEC Nation will be at Kroger Field for their show to highlight the game.

I feel much better about where this team is mentally and personnel-wise than I did last week going into the Missouri game. Terry Wilson did everything he could to solidify himself at the quarterback position and the defense continues to be one of the best in the nation.

Tweets of the Day

Kyle has a great point here.

That’s an absolutely crazy stat.

I am envious of anyone that’s going to be in that stadium.

Quickies

Georgia a double-digit favorite at UK | Cats Pause- Kentucky has been an underdog in the majority of their games this season so nothing new here. The Cats seem to do just fine in that role.

Cats move into top 10 of ESPN power rankings | ESPN- They may be right outside of the AP poll top 10 but they move into the top of the crop of the ESPN rankings. And it’ll be interesting to see where they land in the college football rankings. Ya know, the one that really matters.

SEC East is a big winner | CBS- WIth both Kentucky and Georgia coming off as winners last Saturday, the East division is back in the spotlight. Yeah, Alabama at LSU is the premier game in the conference but Cats vs. Dawgs is going to have plenty of drama all its own.

One thing about every SEC team | Saturdays Down South- Terry Wilson was one of the biggest takeaways from the win over Missouri. He delved into his inner Stephen Johnson and proved that he can be clutch.

Kentucky gets NO love in the Sporting News power rankings | Sporting News- They have UK all the way down at 15. I mean, their schedule and who they have defeated deserves much more respect than this.

Josh Allen gets major award | UK Athletics- The disruptive defensive player was once again huge in the second half. He was honored by winning the Walter Camp Defensive Player of the Week Award.

Rick Pitino wants to be an NBA coaching candidate | ESPN- This is NOT an Onion article. This comes after Pitino said he’s done coaching and wants no part of it.

For Pitino, this is a change of course from an early September public declaration to ESPN’s Mike Greenberg on Get Up that he was “finished coaching.”

And then there’s this:

Pitino would be an absolute disaster on an NBA team. He had a difficult time relating to college kids that he could boss around. Imagine him relating to the modern day NBA player.

College football playoff arguments | Sporting News- Be prepared for the gnashing of teeth when it’s brought up that two SEC teams need to be in or when they inexplicably bump Ohio State into the top 5.

Louisville basketball struggles to beat Bellarmine in exhibition game | WDRB- The basketball season for the Card faithful won’t be as bad as the football season. But it’s going to be bad. Like, really bad.

Georgia still a “work in progress” | Dawg Sports- Georgia is still considered the most talented team in the East and for good reason. But they have one giant blemish on their record. They’re run defense is suspect and the talent on offense isn’t quite what it was last season.
