The first of two exhibition games to prepare for the start of the regular season for the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team is tonight, as the Wildcats take on Transylvania.
Separated by half a mile, the Wildcats will take on the Pioneers for the fourth time as an exhibition matchup under John Calipari with the other three matchups occurring in 2011, 2012, and 2013.
Kentucky will have tonight’s game and another exhibition next Friday before kicking off the regular season against Duke on Tuesday, Nov. 6 in the Champions Classic.
There are several Kentuckians that play on coach Brian Lane’s Transylvania squad, which makes for a neat opportunity to go up against the Wildcats in tonight’s game.
For Kentucky, it will be interesting to see the lineup combinations John Calipari puts on the floor, particularly the starting lineups. Does Calipari try the three-big lineup again? How does Calipari handle the guard rotation with Immanuel Quickley, Ashton Hagans, Quade Green, and Tyler Herro? In such a close competition for playing time and starting spots, each of those guys will want to leave a solid impression.
You can tune in and watch the game at 7 p.m. on the SEC Network. For more info, click here.

John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins were roommates at Kentucky. Wall told me Boogie only wanted to listen to slow jams and he ate all his snacks.

The Wall-Cousins room sounds like a wild place.
