With lackluster play from Kentucky Wildcats QB Terry Wilson over the last two games, Kentucky’s coaches are trying to light a fire under Wilson.

“I had more fire in me,” Wilson said after Tuesday’s practice. “That’s what I need to get back in me. But the coaches are doing a good job on trying to spark some fire under my butt so I can keep going. We’re 6-1. Just trying to do anything we can do to win. But I’ve definitely seen that; I had more juice. I was just out there playing ball.”

Mark Stoops has made statements recently that indicate that Gunnar Hoak and potentially Danny Clark could see reps at quarterback against Missouri, but if Wilson comes out playing well, it’s hard to see Stoops going away from him.

We still don’t really know what has been going on exactly with Wilson during the Texas A&M and Vanderbilt games, but it’s clear that he is not the same between the ears as he was earlier in the season. Is it confidence? Motivation? Something else?

Who knows, but the bottom line is that Kentucky’s passing attack has to improve on Saturday and moving forward.
