The new college basketball season is here, and with it comes the first edition of the AP Top 25 Poll.

Another year, another lofty preseason ranking for the Kentucky Wildcats, who have consistently been ranked in the top three of preseason rankings. Thanks to the return of PJ Washington, Nick Richards and Quade Green, the addition of graduate transfer Reid Travis, and the No. 2 recruiting class in America, Kentucky is once again primed to make a deep run in March.

We got a glimpse of how good this team could be during the Bahamas trip over the summer. That helped make it easier for pollsters to have Kentucky ranked No. 2 in the first AP Poll.

As usual, a host of blue bloods make up the top 10, including the likes of Duke, Kansas and North Carolina. The SEC also got another pair of teams in the top 11 in Auburn and Tennessee. Mississippi State and LSU also cracked the top 25, while Florida, Missouri and Alabama also received votes.

Oh, and Kentucky plays all of those teams, but you already knew this was going to be one of, if not the hardest schedule the Wildcats have faced in the John Calipari era. This is going to be a fun, yet challenging season.
