It was an ugly win, but it was a win.
The Kentucky Wildcats became bowl eligible for the third straight season with their 14-7 grind-it-out win vs. the Vanderbilt Commodores. It certainly wasn’t a pretty game, with Terry Wilson completing just three passes for 18 yards and a touchdown.
But nonetheless, Kentucky gets the win against a scrappy Vanderbilt team behind Benny Snell’s 169 yards and a touchdown, while the defense balled out and held the Dores to just 284 yards.
The Cats are now 6-1 and heading to the postseason for a third-straight year, something that has rarely been done in the history of this program. And there’s still plenty of season left, and the SEC East is still a very real goal for this team.
Here is what social media had to say about the Cats’ win:

Kentucky completed three passes and won an SEC game. Ground game and a bad ass defense will win you a lot of football games.

Personally, I'm all in on a College Football Playoff that features:

12-1 Washington State
12-1 Kentucky
12-1 Iowa
12-1 West Virginia
Reminder: Kentucky just won a football game in which the Wildcats passed for 18 yards.

Amazing statistic of the day, Kentucky has as many SEC wins as Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, Mizzou, and Vandy combined.

Benny Snell (169 yards, 1 TD tonight) back into the SEC lead for rushing yards (868) and second in rushing TD (9). Josh Allen (8 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 FF tonight) keeps his SEC lead in tackles for loss (12.5). Kentucky has two legit superstars.

Benny Snell carries Kentucky once again. 169 yards and the go ahead touchdown. Cats defense is amazing... But UK has to figure something out through air. 18 yards passing tonight, plus a turnover. What’s the worst that can happen by giving Hoak a chance? Thoughts.
