Aidan Igiehon sets decision date

The talented big man is ready to end his recruitment.

The recruitment of Aidan Igiehon is coming to a close.

The four-star center will make his college choice on Friday, he announced on Twitter. His finalists include Kentucky, Oregon, Louisville and St. John’s.

Ranked 44th overall in 2019 by 247 Sports Composite, Igiehon is someone Kentucky took a hard look at over the summer. They even reportedly offered him a scholarship, though that’s since been refuted.

Right now, it appears the Louisville Cardinals will be the pick. Over the summer, Evan Daniels predicted that Igiehon would eventually commit to the Cards. His top 10 ten schools did include Kentucky, but it’s really hard to see the Wildcats being the pick.

Louisville’s new head coach, Chris Mack, has already worked wonders with his recruiting class. Highlighted by four-star point guard David Johnson — 247’s top recruit from the state of Kentucky — and three other top-100 recruits, Igiehon would solidify what’s already shaping up to a be a top-10 recruiting class when the final rankings come out in the spring.

As it stands, Kentucky is still recruiting James Wiseman, Vernon Carey and Matthew Hurt in the Class of 2019. Oscar Tshiebwe is deciding Saturday and likely picking West Virginia, while Kentucky appears to be out of the running for Isaiah Stewart.

Needless to say, Kentucky is running out of big man targets in 2019.
