Linebacker Avery Williamson is having a tremendous first year with the New York Jets.
Williamson played for the Kentucky Wildcats from 2010-13 and was the 5th-round selection of the Tennessee Titans in the 2014 NFL draft.
With the Titans, Williamson had two seasons with more than 100 total tackles and a third with 92. After spending his first four seasons Titans, he signed with the Jets for three years and $22.5 million before the 2018 season.
Williamson has shined under the New York City lights. He has recorded 32 total tackles, forced a fumble, recovered a fumble, has two sacks and a pick from inside linebacker position.
In Week 3 against the Browns, Williamson had an incredible 14 total tackles with two sacks.
This past weekend against the Colts, Williamson deflected two passes and picked one off returning it 36 yards.
Williamson has been worth every penny for the Jets and is becoming yet another big-time defensive player in the NFL to come from Kentucky.
