Good morning Big Blue Nation! The bye week is officially over and the Kentucky Wildcats are ready for the second half of the season. Yesterday we saw things open up in the East as the Georgia Bulldogs were whacked by the LSU Tigers.
Kentucky, Georgia, and the Florida Gators are all sitting with one loss in the SEC but the Gators are the only team that owns a loss to a fellow team from the East.
The Cats have had two weeks to prepare for the Vanderbilt Commodores and after they gave Florida everything they wanted, I doubt the Cats will overlook them when they roll into Kroger Field on Saturday.

UK has won 10 games for the fifth time in Coach Johan Cedergren’s seven-year tenure (2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018). UK has won at least 10 games 19 times dating to 1991. pic.twitter.com/KkFrAk6Y6G
They good.
Jawon Pass said Petrino didn't tell him he was out in the fourth quarter. He saw Jordan Travis and assumed.

Things continue to deteriorate in Birdville. What a shame.
Quickies
Kentucky in a three way tie atop the East | Lexington Herald Leader- The Cats have had opportunities like this in the past and they weren’t able to take advantage. I believe they have the guys to do it this time around.
Week 7 overreactions | Saturdays Down South- The Vols beat Auburn, Tua gets injured vs. Missouri, Florida struggles with Vandy, and Georgia looked terrible. Crazy week in the SEC.
5 reasons Kentucky won’t collapse in the second half of the season | Lexington Herald Leader- Deep down in our BBN psyche we are kind of expecting this. Things have been to good. We’ve seen it happen twice in the Mark Stoops era: the Cats start off hot with a bowl on the horizon only to collapse in the second half to end at 5-7. But John Clay lines out 5 good reasons why this won’t happen.
UK volleyball welcomes Ole Miss | UK Athletics- The 16th ranked Cats have been looking good in the SEC and look to continue rolling along when Ole Miss visits today at 1:00 PM.
Chaos reigns in Week 7 | SEC- Honestly this was the perfect week to have a bye. Ranked teams were falling like flies.
Top 25 projections | CBS- The Cats are back to 14th after a week off and as other teams lose. The Vandy game is getting bigger and bigger. The top ten and the SEC East are within striking distance.
SEC Power Rankings | Saturdays Down South- Things are getting VERY interesting in the SEC and Kentucky is right in the thick of it:
5. Kentucky (5-1, off this week)
Sure, Kentucky lost to Texas A&M last week, but you can’t think twice about them being slotted ahead of the Aggies. Because Kentucky beat Florida. And Florida beat LSU. And LSU beat Georgia. Or something like that.
Cards lose fourth straight game | WDRB- All kidding aside: the Louisville Cardinals struggles are a sight to behold. They are two years removed from having a Heisman Trophy winning QB and cracking the top 5. Now they are the worst team in the ACC and there isn’t a question about it.
Kentucky is an OT loss at Texas A&M from being a top-10 team and alone in first place in the SEC East. Even so, the division is now wide open. Georgia looks mortal all of a sudden.

Just stick a knife in my heart, Kyle.
