Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt: TV channel, start time, initial odds and an early prediction

The Wildcats return off the bye to host a feisty Vanderbilt team.

Jason Marcum - Sea of Blue

The Kentucky Wildcats are back in action this week when the Vanderbilt Commodores come to Kroger Field. This game will kickoff Saturday at 7:30 pm and be shown on the SEC Network.

The Wildcats will be in uncharted waters coming off a mid-season bye week with an overall record of 5-1. There are now lofty goals on the horizon, including winning the SEC East. But above all, Kentucky has to take care of business at home Saturday against Vanderbilt.

The Commodores are 3-4 on the season and will visit Kroger Field for homecoming. The Wildcats should be well rested and physically ready to finish this season with a bang. They can’t sleep on the Dores, however, who have narrow losses to Florida and Notre Dame, two top-15 teams right now. If Kentucky isn’t ready for a fight, they could find themselves in a down-to-the-wire decision.

With Georgia’s loss at LSU, the doors have opened for Mark Stoops and his team to achieve something special in 2018. But the process still has to be taken one game at a time with a focus on getting better each week.

And with a week off and homecoming, it is important that Kentucky comes out focused and ready to play on Saturday. A win would also put Kentucky at bowl eligibility for the third-straight year under Stoops.

Here is an early look at the matchup:

Vanderbilt Commodores (3-4) at Kentucky Wildcats (5-1)
