College basketball season is here. With Big Blue Madness having come and gone, the hype for new season is starting to really take off.
Today, the Kentucky Basketball team held their annual Midnight Madness event, which gives fans their first chance to see the new team in front of a packed Rupp Arena crowd.
As always, head coach John Calipari talked about his team’s offseason and previewed the upcoming season during his state of the program speech. Calipari is looking to win his second national title and lead the Cats to the final four for the first time since 2015, and he sounds like he believes this team can do it.
“When I look at this team and I look at this group, it makes me want to keep going,” said Calipari. “I wake up every day excited to coach my team. I may look one age, but I can tell you that these guys make me feel like I’m 30 again.”
This was part of what turned into a special night inside Rupp Arena, something that’s been a common occurrence over the last 10 years, and there should be plenty more during the 2018-19 college hoops season.
