That’s the day before Kentucky’s Blue-White game.
The Kentucky Wildcats will soon learn where Oscar Tshiebwe is going.
The five-star center will make his college decision on Oct. 21, he announced on Instagram.
Tshiebwe, the No. 22 player in the class of 2019 via 247 Sports Composite, is also considering the West Virginia Mountaineers, Baylor Bears and Illinois Fighting Illini. He’s believed to be down to Kentucky and West Virginia, which looks like a toss-up as of now.
Tshiebwe just had his official visit with West Virginia, so the fact he’s announcing two weeks after the visit is probably good news for Kentucky. Had he decided right after the visit, it would have probably been the Mountaineers, who are still controlling most of the 247 crystal ball predictions, but a pair of Rivals experts recently picked Kentucky for Tshiebwe.
You also have to wonder if Tshiebwe actually knows where he’s going right now, or if he’s giving himself a deadline of Oct. 21 to make his decision by. West Virginia has been recruiting him for years, but throughout his recruitment, Kentucky has been mentioned as the school he may desire more.
I would venture to guess that since we’re over a week away from the decision, we’ll hear about John Calipari or a Kentucky assistant visiting Tshiebwe before he makes his final decision.
