The Kentucky Wildcats have offered arguably the top recruit in the Class of 2020.
According to Rivals, Kentucky extended a scholarship offer to five-star shooting guard Jalen Green on Monday.
Ranked second overall by 247 Sports Composite, Green is a 6-5, 170-pound shooting guard from San Joaquin Memorial in Fresno (CA). His highest ranking is No. 1 overall by Rivals. He currently holds offers from the Memphis Tigers, UCLA Bruins, Oregon Ducks, Arizona Wildcats, USC Trojans and Villanova Wildcats among others.
Kentucky assistant coach Joel Justus visited Green on Sept. 24.
Memphis has an early crystal ball prediction from Andrew Slater. Kentucky hasn’t had much success recruiting out west, but never sleep on John Calipari with an elite recruit.
Green joins five-star wing Jalen Johnson, five-star center N’Faly Dante, five-star wing Scottie Barnes, five-star guard Jeremy Roach and five-star guard Shariffe Cooper as 2020 recruits to score Kentucky offers.
It’s clear Calipari is taking a different approach in recruiting this year, as he’s rarely offered scholarships to players two years away from college. Yet, here we are as the calendar just turned to October, and Calipari has already extended six, though all six guys are more than worthy of the offer, especially Green.
