The Kentucky Wildcats are 13-3, but those last three wins have were quite difficult to come by.
In games that came down to the wire vs Georgia, LSU and now Texas A&M, the young Cats could have easily folded and lost all three games.
But somehow, the Cats fought hard enough to earn wins in all three games, the latest being a 74-73 thriller over the Aggies, who have now lost four straight to being SEC play.
The Cats took a 37-35 lead into halftime, but A&M was in control much of the second half, leading by six on several occasions. They ended up leading for 21:16 of game time compared to 12:57 for UK.
But all that mattered was UK led by a point when the clock struck zero, giving the Cats a much-needed win after their setback in Knoxville.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and PJ both went for 16 points, while Hamidou Diallo led the way with 18 points. Kevin Knox chipped in 15 for good measure, nine of which coming in the second half.
Oh, and UK won this game without starting point guard Quade Green, who is battling a back strain. This should go down as one of UK’s best wins of the season when it’s all said and done.
Here is a look at the game’s final box score:
