Kentucky Wildcats win thriller vs Vandy: Highlights, box score and game MVP

One of the wildest wins of the John Calipari era.

WOW.

The Kentucky Wildcats have scored their 17h win of the season.

It wasn’t easy by any means, and it probably gave all of BBN a massive heart attack. But, they pulled it out.

There was a lot wrong with this win. Kentucky was favored by 12 tonight, but somehow let Vanderbilt control the game for the majority of it.

Kentucky trailed by as many as 14 points during the game, Hamidou Diallo had his worst game by far as a Wildcat, and the team couldn’t find a rhythm... again.

To say the Cats were lucky to pull this one out is an understatement, but a win is a win.

Game MVP

Without question the MVP goes to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He played his heart out tonight, and the box score represented that.

He finished with 30 points on 12-19 shooting, three assists, and one rebound. If it weren’t for Shai barely keeping this team in the game, Kentucky would’ve lost by 20.

Throughout the game he made the right play at the right time. Oh not to mention, when all the pressure was on him he nailed two free throws to get the Cats into overtime.

Earlier today Shai’s draft stock shot up to #20. Expect that to go up even more after today’s performance.

Here is the final box score from win No. 17:
