The early returns on five-star center Charles Bassey are showing that he may be headed for the Hilltop.
Bassey currently has three predictions in his 247 Sports crystal ball, and they’re all for Western Kentucky.
As the No. 3 player in the 2019 class (247 Sports), Bassey has seven offers: WKU, Baylor, California, Kansas, LSU, Texas A&M and UCLA. Kentucky has not yet thrown its hat into the ring, but the staff has shown interest. Bassey made an unofficial visit to UK in June of 2016.
Bassey was previously playing in San Antonio at St. Anthony Catholic, but he’s now in Louisville playing in-state at the Aspire Academy. That could be a reason for the complete swap between UK and WKU in his crystal ball.
UK held 100 percent of Bassey’s predictions for a full year before they split 50/50, now WKU has the only three predictions.
Andrew Slater of The Devils Den, Michael McCammon of ITV and Cardinal Authority and Dylan Prezkop of Next Up Recruits are the only three experts who have made predictions so far.
Bassey is 6-10, 220 lbs. He was 247’s No. 1 player in the state of Texas before moving.
