Mark Stoops and UK have changed their tune in regard to Bryant Koback opting to transfer.

Just hours after news broke that UK was restricting Koback from transferring to Eastern Michigan or Toledo, Stoops has cleared the air and says the running back can go to either of those schools.

“Since I’ve been at Kentucky, our policy has been that we will not approve a transfer to a Southeastern Conference school or future non-conference opponent,” Stoops said in a statement released by UK. “Until this afternoon, Bryant had never talked to me personally to ask me to change that policy. Following a discussion this afternoon, I’ve decided to allow Bryant to transfer to Toledo or Eastern Michigan if he so chooses.

“We wish Bryant and his family the best.”

That’s great to see, as Koback is transferring because of a health situation in his family. That means he could transfer to school close to his original home like Toledo, who is a future opponent on UK’s schedule.

Allowing him to transfer there if he wishes is the right move by Stoops and UK.
