All of the buzz right now is with the Clemson Tigers, though the Kentucky Wildcats are though to still have a real shot at this.
While it’s a turn that was being hinted at for some time, it’s still surprising to see that the Clemson Tigers are now the team getting all the buzz for Zion Williamson.
Williamson is, without a doubt, the most well-known high school recruit since LeBron James, despite the fact that he’s not the unanimous No. 1 recruit in his class (247 has him at No. 1, Scout has him at No. 3). He’s a 6-6 power forward, weighing 275 lbs. He’s almost oversized, but he possesses an athleticism that seems impossible at that size. He puts that athleticism on display in YouTube dunk reels seen by millions across the country and around the world.
It’s been tough to gauge Williamson’s interest, as he’s never cut down his list or given any indication as to who’s impressing him. Evan Daniels of Scout.com even said recently that he really hasn’t let anything get out.
That’s why, while most believe Clemson is the slight favorite, it’s more buzz and hearsay than concrete proof, as Zion has played his cards close to the vest.
Williamson has been visited by multiple members of the UK staff, including John Calipari, and he’s visited Lexington as well.
