The Kentucky Wildcats have fallen all the way out of the latest AP Top 25.
After losing back-to-back games last week, the Cats are unranked for the first time since the 2013-14 season. There have been several times since then that the Cats nearly fell out of the rankings, but there was little doubt UK would fall out this time around.
Losing at unranked South Carolina and then at home to previously unranked Florida made it an easy call to likely drop UK from the top 25 of every major poll this week.
Thankfully, there’s still plenty of season left, but there’s no question the Cats have a lot of work to do just to squeak back into the top 25.
Here is the latest AP Top 25:
16 Saint Mary’s Gaels
23 Nevada Wolfpack
UK also fell out of the newest ESPN Power rankings. The good news is, like the AP Poll, there will be plenty of chances for UK to score wins over top-25 teams. In this ranking, at West Virginia (7), at Auburn (14), Tennessee (15) and at Florida (19) are all still left on the schedule.
Sure, the Cats have a lot of work to do if they’re going to beat any of those teams, but at least they still have plenty of chances at quality wins left on the schedule.
