Zion Williamson has committed to the Duke Blue Devils. He made the call just minutes before the Kentucky Wildcats took on Florida.
This was a major shocker with Clemson expecting to be the pick.
Williamson is the No. 3 recruit in the nation on 247 Sports and the No. 2 recruit on ESPN’s Top 100. The YouTube sensation is the most well-known high school basketball player since LeBron James.
Williamson stands 6-6, 275 lbs. He’s the top power forward in the class on both recruiting services, and with good reason. He’s got superstar ability when it comes to dunking the ball, and he’s made a high percentage of his shots throughout his high school career.
This may have been Kentucky’s last shot with any 2018 recruit they’d offered so far. The Wildcats are still awaiting five-star shooting guard Romeo Langford’s decision, but there’s been virtually no interest recently. And the Wildcats still have not offered five-star center Moses Brown.
Alas, life goes on.
