The Florida Gators come into Lexington on Saturday in a game that will have some implications in terms of the SEC standings.

The Gators come into the game fresh off a 15-point victory at home versus Arkansas, 88-73, in which the Gators shot the ball lights out from behind the arc, connecting on 13-25 three pointers.

The Wildcats come in off a disappointing loss to South Carolina, in which they gave up a 14 point lead in the second half. Kentucky currently sits at 14-4 (4-2).

The Gators currently sit at 13-5 (5-1), one game ahead of Kentucky.

Florida has been up-and-down this year. They started the year off as one of the best teams in the country after starting 5-0 but a three-game losing streak including losses to Florida State and a shocking upset to Loyola-Chicago.

Florida’s only loss in conference play was a 78-72 loss to Ole Miss on Saturday. They hold conference wins at home versus Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and Arkansas, as well as road wins at Texas A&M and Missouri.

If Florida is hitting threes, they’re arguably the best team in the conference and one of the best in the country, but when their perimeter shots aren’t falling, Florida is beatable, like on Saturday when the Gators shot 10-29.

If Kentucky wants to win, they will definitely have to improve their three-point and free throw shooting from the South Carolina game, in which the Wildcats shot 23-36 from the free throw line and 1-11 from the three-point line.

The crowd at Rupp Arena should be loud on Saturday for a game this big, so hopefully the Cats are able to come away with a big win.
