On Wednesday, John Calipari hosted his call-in show at Champions Kitchen inside the brand new Student Center.
During the show, Calipari discussed Tuesday’s loss to South Carolina, as well as the health of several injured Cats.
The main takeaway from the show was Calipari expects Quade Green to return soon, possibly this weekend when UK hosts the Florida Gators. Calipari added that there is nothing structurally wrong with Green’s back, which was initially reported as just a strain.
This is huge for Kentucky. We saw Shai get in foul trouble early Tuesday night, accumulating three fouls before halftime. That threw his game off, and on top of that, the only other guard Cal could put in was Brad Calipari. Having Quade back will fix that and many other things as well.
As for the rest of the guys, Cal said he expects to soon have a fully “healthy team.” He didn’t comment on Tai or Jemarl, but hearing him say that is definitely reassuring that this team is getting healthy at the right time.
With Jarred Vanderbilt finally back on the court, one thing is for certain, this team looks much better with him on the floor. With that being said, Cal did said that he looks a bit lost out there. Which is to be expected since it was his first game.
Calipari added he hopes to have a big turnout Saturday for College GameDay and when the Cats face Florida.
. @UKCoachCalipari is quick to remind us his kids (like all college kids) are not robots. Plus, he reminded BBN a little thing called College Gameday is this weekend
