Kentucky has a referee problem again...
According to a report from ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura, the officials of the Music City Bowl have received threatening phone calls following their controversial calls, including one that got Benny Snell ejected.
The report says that Chris Coyte, the official that ejected Snell, received a “barrage” of threats that died down until Mitch Barnhart revealed that he wrote a letter to the Pac-12 voicing his complaints about the officiating.
The officiating was terrible, but threats are not necessary (it is football, after all). And I realize that this is a small percentage of the fan base, but from the NCAA Tournament to this, it’s clear that it’s happening too much.
