This is becoming a very concerning injury.

The Kentucky Wildcats are in Nashville today preparing to play a matchup against the Vanderbilt Commodores.

There are multiple Cats on the injury watch for today’s game, but the most notable would be starting point guard Quade Green, who is out once again. After being a game-time decision the coaching and medical staff have decided it wouldn’t be in Green’s best interest to play due to a lingering back strain.

Quade is averaging 10.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. He’s the starting point guard on this young team and he brings a lot to the table when he can be on the court. He stretches defenses, brings energy, and maybe most importantly, his skills allow the team to bring a talent like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander off the bench.

SGA thrives in that 6th man spot. Shai could easily be a starting player so having him come off the bench well rested to lead the 2nd unit is a huge advantage for this team.

With Quade out, expect to see SGA have another heavy workload like his 39 minutes played against Texas A&M.
