The Kentucky Wildcats will be on the road again on Saturday in Nashville, taking on the Vanderbilt Commodores, as the ‘Cats are coming off of a big home win against Texas A&M.

Vanderbilt comes in at 1-3 in conference play and 6-10 on the season. The Commodores’ lone conference win was a home victory over Alabama. They’ve dropped contests on the road at Florida and South Carolina, as well as a home matchup against Tennessee, although Vandy led the Vols by as much as ten in the second half.

Vanderbilt really doesn’t have any major wins this season, so they will likely be desperate for a big win when Kentucky rolls into town.

The Commodores are led by senior forward Jeff Roberson, who leads Vandy in points, rebounds, and three-point percentage. Roberson averages just shy of 15 points and 8 rebounds per game while shooting it at a better than 43 percent clip behind the arc.

Outside of Roberson, the Commodores have Matthew Fisher-Davis and Riley LaChance (who it feels like has been in college for a decade).

Both of those guys are perimeter shooting threats, so Kentucky’s perimeter defenders will have to be especially tuned to not allowing those three guys any easy looks.

Kentucky has been good against Vanderbilt recently, taking five of the last six matchups. Since Calipari has been at Kentucky, the Cats are 12-4 against the Commodores.

Kentucky should be the favorite in this game and should win, although the environment at Vanderbilt can be challenging for a team filled with freshmen. Kentucky probably starts slow, but look for them to pick it up in the second half and come away with the victory.
