Brian Bowen isn’t ready to give up on a college career.
The former five-star recruit and Louisville Cardinals signee has been looking for a new school after being involved in the ongoing FBI investigation into college basketball corruption.
Bowen was front and center for the scandal thanks to his family receiver impermissible benefits, despite him being in the dark about it. He’s been looking to transfer to a new school since then, and it appears he’ll land in the SEC.
According to ESPN reporter Jeff Goodman, Bowen is enrolling with the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Former Louisville commit Brian Bowen told ESPN he has been admitted to South Carolina and will seek reinstatement from the NCAA. Story coming.

The Kentucky Wildcats actually actually face the Gamecocks next Tuesday, though it’s hard to see him being reinstated for that game, if at all this season. Even so, this is a big addition for South Carolina and the SEC if he is ultimately cleared to play.
The FBI orginally alleged that Louisville agreed to pay “Player-10” $100,000 through Adidas for his commitment to the school, which turned out to be Bowen. He was suspended indefinitely following details of the report, and has since been cleared by the FBI. Louisville reportedly chose not to reinstate him.
