As KSR reports, the game will tip off at 1 pm EST and will be broadcast on CBS. It’s rare to see this game played on a Friday, but that noon/early afternoon time is typically when the game has been.
That changed last year when the Cats and Cards played on a Wednesday night in the Yum Center. That game saw Louisville upend UK, 73-70. Prior to that, the Cards had not beaten* UK since John Calipari came to Lexington.
Both the Cats and Cards are once again projected to have top-10 teams entering the 2017-18 season. This time, the game will be in Rupp Arena, where Calipari has never lost to Rick Pitino and his Cards.
However, Pitino’s club will have vastly more experience than Calipari’s young Cats will have, though that’s normally the case when these two Hall of Fame coaches square off.
Here’s how the last UK-Louisville game in rupp turned out:
*Note: Louisville’s 2013-14 season will be vacated, wiping out their 80-77 win over UK during that season.
