When will Kentucky land a 2018 pledge? Who will be part of their 2018 class? How many players will it include?
These are some of the many questions facing John Calipari as we enter the fall period. This is familiar territory, however, as Kentucky was also without a commit going into September of 2016.
All Calipari did was land seven five-star players, including Hamidou Diallo, Quade Green, Kevin Knox, Nick Richards, P.J. Washington, Shai Alexander and Jarred Vanderbilt.
However, with several of those players likely staying in college for multiple years, that means the 2018 class could be one of, if not the smallest Calipari has assembled at Kentucky.
To help sort through who Kentucky is prioritizing the most, Scout recruiting guru Evan Daniels spoke with KSTV about the latest scuttlebutt around Lexington. Daniels made sure to call Kentucky “the strong and heavy favorite” for immanuel Quickley as his recruitment winds down. He’s all but locked into to one of the 4-5 spots Kentucky figures to have in its 2018 class.
Daniels also gave brief updates on R.J. Barrett, Keldon Johnson, and the Kentucky vs Duke recruiting war.
