Former Kentucky Wildcats linebacker Danny Trevathan is in the news, but not in a good way.

The NFL has suspended the current Chicago Bears linebacker for two games after his brutal helmet-to-helmet on Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams.

The play in question occurred on Thursday, where Trevathan landed an illegal helmet-to-helmet hit on Adams as he was being brought to the ground by another Bears defender.

Adams received immediate medical assistance as Adams lay motionless on the field, though the team later reported that Adams was conscious and had movement in all extremities en route to a hospital.

After Thursday's game, a 35-14 Packers win, Trevathan said that he'll reach out to Adams to make sure he's fine.

"I was just trying to make a play. It wasn't intentional. I was just trying to do my job and he ended up getting hurt," Trevathan said. "I'm sorry about that and I'm going to reach out to him."

Hopefully, Trevathan learns from this and never lets it happen again. There’s no place in the game for these types of hits.
