Next year’s McDonald's All-American game will be taking place in a popular spot for Kentucky fans next year.
In March 2018, 24 of the nation’s best high-school basketball players will descend upon Atlanta for the annual game, according to Scout’s Evan Daniels.
The game has been held in Chicago the last seven years. Before that, it rotated but strong attendance and promotion made Chicago a permanent home.
This will be the first time Atlanta has hosted the game since 1992.
The game is slated to be played March 28 at Phillips Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks. Since 1977, 59 players – 41 boys and 18 girls – have hailed from Atlanta, including last year’s Morgan Wootten Player of the Year Wendell Carter, now a freshman at Duke.
Kentucky fans will likely be familiar with many of the players that will be playing, as the Cats are involved with many of the top 2018 recruits, including Zion Williamson, R.J. Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, Simi Shittu, Quentin Grimes and Darius Garland.
Imagine getting to see future Cats playing in the middle of Catlanta.
