There have been rumors buzzing this week that there will be something or someone special at Kroger Field on Saturday night when the Kentucky Wildcats welcome in the Florida Gators.

The popular theory right now is that Canadian rapper Drake will be on the premises. If you go and type in “Drake UK” into the Twitter machine, you’ll see the fan base talking about the possibility of this going down.

Drake is no stranger to Kentucky athletics. He is big fan of John Calipari and his basketball team. He’s been at Big Blue Madness and practiced with the UCLA basketball team wearing a UK uniform:

So what’s the big deal about Drake? Well, for one, the football players love Drake and having him there for one of the biggest games of their lives would be extremely special for them.

Secondly, Zion Williamson is making his official visit to Kentucky on Saturday and he’s a big Drake fan. Drake has even appeared in public wearing a Zion Williamson jersey.

John Wall will also be in Lexington this weekend for his induction into the Kentucky Hall of Fame. Drake and Wall are friends. Again, a huge impression will be made on arguably the biggest, most famous Kentucky basketball recruit since John Wall.

Think what you will of Drake; I’m not particularly a fan, but his presence at the game will be a positive for the football team and possibly the basketball team. The crowd reaction will be explosive, the student section will be raucous, and the vibe will be like none other we have seen at a football game.

This hasn’t been confirmed yet, but multiple hints have been dropped that Drake will be in attendance.

Besides, wouldn’t you rather have Drake at the game and on TV instead of Rick Pitino dressed like an eleven year old?

That’s an easy choice.
