Since 2010 when John Calipari first arrived in Lexington, UK has been producing NBA talent more than any school in the country.
It’s no secret that UK is the best place for players who want to have the best shot of making it to the NBA as possible. A big reason being that Calipari and UK do everything in their power to increase the NBA profile of their players as much as possible.
One example of doing that involves UK holding their own NBA Combine, which will take place once again this year. According to Evan Daniels, UK has informed NBA teams that this year’s NBA Pro Day will be held on Sunday, October 8th.
Kentucky has hosted a combine in October for three years now, and for good reason. Their 2014-15 team was loaded with eventual NBA Draft picks Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Harrison, Willie Cauley-Stein, Trey Lyles, Dakari Johnson, and Devin Booker.
Last year’s team featured De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk and Bam Adebayo.
This year, UK is expected to have a pair of 2018 NBA draftees in Hamidou Diallo and Kevin Knox. There’s also the potential for guys like Nick Richards, Wenyen Gabriel, P.J. Washington and Jarred Vanderbilt to turn pro after the 2017-18 season.
