Zion Williamson sets official visit with Kentucky Wildcats Basketball

Zion will take his official visit to Lexington on the same weekend John Wall is in town.

USA Today Sports

Zion Williamson is set to visit Lexington on Sept. 22, according to Rivals. This news comes after John Calipari set up a visit with Williamson for Wednesday.

The 5-star forward is the No. 2 recruit in the class of 2018, and Kentucky is one of the favorites to land him. He’s one of the most electrifying and famous prospects in college basketball history, and he’d be a huge game-changer for the Cats.

The visit coming on the 22 means it’s not as likely that Williamson will come into town for Big Blue Madness on Oct. 13, though the possibility still exists.

The good thing about Williamson coming Sept. 22 is that’s the weekend John Wall will be in town. Wall is being inducted into the UK Athletics Hall of Fame, so Wall and Williamson will get to meet up that weekend, which is great news for Kentucky. It’s also the weekend when Kentucky hosts Florida in football, so this could turn into one amazing weekend in Lexington.

Williamson has also scheduled official visits and in-home visits with other schools. On Tuesday he had an in-home visit with Kansas head coach Bill Self.

On Wednesday, Calipari will have an in-home visit Williamson. UCLA’s Steve Alford will also get an in-home visit that same day.

He currently has official visits scheduled to Duke on Oct. 22, and UCLA on Oct. 27. He also had an unofficial visit with Clemson on Sept. 9.

The Jayhawks are currently the favorite to land Williamson, according to his Crystal Ball, with Kentucky in second.
