The Kentucky Wildcats have a huge recruiting weekend on deck.
According to Chris Fisher of Cats Pause, Keldon Johnson will be taking an official visit to UK on the weekend of Sept 15. That comes on the same weekend that Immanuel Quickley ventures to Lexington for what may be his last visit.
Johnson, a five-star shooting guard out of Oak Hill Academy, recently took an unofficial visit to UK and scored a scholarship offer. That’s put UK at or near the top of his list going into the fall signing period, though it remains to be seen if he’ll sign now or in the spring.
The fact he is visiting UK again so soon would seem to be very good news, though part of it is because Hurricane Irma has forced Johnson to cancel his trip to Florida State this weekend.
Johnson actually received a visit from John Calipari on Monday. That means Johnson will have seen UK or a coach for the third time this weekend in a span of just over three weeks. That speaks to how much UK is now prioritizing Johnson in the 2018 class.
We already know Quickley is very likely to pick UK, so you know he’ll be putting the full-court press on Johnson when the two are in Lexington this weekend.
Here’s a look at the possible future of UK’s backcourt:
