R.J. Barrett is about to take his five visits, and Kentucky has gotten the first one.
With that time upcoming, the Lexington Herald-Leader asked a panel of experts to rank Barrett’s most likely landing spots. As you can imagine, Kentucky came in high on this list, but not high enough to claim the top spot.
Instead, that honor went to Duke, who is viewed as the team to beat for Barrett. Even so, Kentucky is in a good position to land the elite wing, and thing can change drastically with official visits.
Here’s the excerpt about Kentucky.
The good news for the Cats is that they were the only team to be included on all five of our recruiting experts’ lists (and UK got one first-place vote). The bad news: The Cats were a pretty distant second place. making a good impression on Barrett, who is expected to arrive in town Friday.
John Calipari’s Canada connection has always been strong, and that could help him in this recruitment, but leading up to Barrett’s visits, the experts have Duke as the favorite.
Barrett’s 247 Crystal Ball also has Duke as the current favorite. Most of the recruiting experts admit they’re guessing more in regards to Barett vs actually hearing he favors Duke.
Whatever the case may be, the picture should start clearing up one his visits commence.
