Good morning all ye faithful members of Big Blue Nation. If you have been jonesing for some football then last night you were in luck as the annual Hall of Fame Game took place in Canton, Ohio. Usually this affair takes place the Sunday after the Hall of Fame inductions, but the game was moved up to Thursday.
It was the Arizona Cardinals vs. the Dallas Cowboys and hardly any of the starters saw a snap. But there were a few storylines. Blake Bortles for the Cardinals had a very good game and showed why he should be backup while former Baylor Bear basketball player Rico Gathers looked very good at tight-end for the ‘Boys. His leaping touchdown catch was one of the more eye-catching plays of the night.
We have more preseason games to get through before the real deal starts on September 7, but hey, I’ll take it.
Tweet of the Day
Wish Tony Romo had practiced football as hard as he appears to be practicing broadcasting.— Skip Bayless (@RealSkipBayless) August 4, 2017
Normally I wouldn’t post a Skip Bayless tweet but this caught me as really funny. Romo made his debut in the booth (deerstand) last night with Jim Nantz and of course Bayless, a Cowboys fan, had to say something snarky. To me this one tweet is the height of Bayless hot takeness.

30 Stephen King movies ranked | Rolling Stone- There are some good ones on the list bt to me The Shining is always going to be the scariest King adaptation and the best even though the author didn’t care for Stanley Kubric’s film. This list comes as The Dark Tower hits theaters to extremely poor reviews. I had a feeling that would happen. I read all eight books in the Dark Tower series and while I was optimistic about the first movie, I always felt that the Midworld Western/Fantasy drama would be too epic in scope for the theaters. What it needed was an HBO, AMC, or FX series treatment. An hour and a half is not even close to being enough for the first book let alone trying to cram in several plots from across the entire fictional universe. Hopefully the new vision of It can hold up better in comparison to the novel and outdo the classic but, in my opinion, overrated made for TV movie. Rant over.
