Kentucky men’s basketball will be hosting “Teaming up For Texas,” a telethon to help Texas flood victims on Sunday.
The telethon will air from 3:30-6:30 p.m. ET, and will be broadcast across the state, according to a press release.

“I have not been able to stop thinking about everyone who has been affected by Hurricane Harvey,” John Calipari said. “Every time I turn on the TV, I’m stunned at the images of devastation in Texas. It hits home for me because of the players we’ve had come from that area, including Andrew and Aaron Harrison, De’Aaron Fox and now Jarred Vanderbilt. Thankfully their families are safe, but there are a whole lot of people down there who aren’t as fortunate.”
Around $150,000 have already been raised for Hurricane Harvey victims, thanks to the UK Alumni Charity Game.
Calipari has orchestrated two telethons with UK basketball in the past, one for the Haiti Earthquake and one for super-storm Sandy.
All of the proceeds of the event will go to the Red Cross.
Information on how to donate during the telethon will be available later on.
Can't stop thinking about everyone affected by Hurricane Harvey. We're working to partner with @WKYT and @RedCross for a telethon Sunday.

I've asked Joe and Kelly Craft to co-chair the telethon while helping raise matching dollars. Still working on details. Will have more later
